Press ReleaseFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2006: CWHN LAUNCHES NATIONAL PUBLICITY CAMPAIGN, LAST CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE IN WOMEN’S HEALTH STRATEGY SURVEYIn honour of International Women’s Day 2006, the Canadian Women’s Health Network (CWHN) is launching a national publicity campaign to deliver fast facts on how timely health issues and debates affect women in Canada. The first set of the “Don’t Swallow Everything You Hear about Women’s Health” series includes bilingual posters on women and pharmaceuticals and a fact sheet on what women should know about for-profit health care. They can be downloaded from the CWHN website or ordered from the CWHN. This week also marks the final opportunity for individuals who are interested in the future of Canada’s Women’s Health Strategy to add their voices to CWHN’s online survey. The electronic consultation aims to identify what Canadians think of the Strategy, which is currently under review. To date, 627 Canadians have commented. We encourage anyone interested in the health of women and girls to participate in the survey before Wednesday, March 15th, 2006. CWHN will report the results of the survey to the federal government to help them with their review process. The results of the survey will be made public in the coming months. To download “Don’t Swallow” materials or participate in the Women’s Health Strategy Survey, go to www.cwhn.ca.
